Fun for a Good Cause • Kiwanis Yorktober Fest September 27 & 28 • Riverfront Park East
Yorktoberfest is the largest nonprofit event of its kind to come to the Fox River! It’s an unforgettable day full of great fun, food, beer, live music, and activities for the whole family, all while raising money to benefit children and families in Yorkville and Kendall County.
The Kiwanis Club of Yorkville is the Yorkville chapter of the larger Kiwanis International organization. The club was chartered in October 2017 with our inaugural Charter ceremony at the beginning of 2018. Kiwanis Club of Yorkville shares the mission of Kiwanis International to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children. The Kiwanis International organization is a community of over 600,000 members worldwide dedicated to this mission. Kiwanis empowers members to pursue creative ways to serve the needs of children through local service projects and fundraising.
That is where the idea for Yorktoberfest was born. Since the formation of our club, our members have wanted to bring the community together for a large-scale event to raise money for a good cause. Our partnership with the United City of Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department is helping turn this idea into reality. As partners, we are hosting the annual event where we invite the community and visitors from all around to join in the festivities of the traditional German celebration of Oktoberfest with a special Yorkville twist!
Proceeds from the event will go to the Kiwanis Club of Yorkville Illinois Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation with the mission of completing service projects that improve the quality of life for children and families worldwide, especially for those children and families located in Yorkville and Kendall County, Illinois. Proceeds will be used to support those service projects and to fund scholarships that will be awarded to students who have shown a commitment to serving others and their community.
