WOMEN INSPIRED | Shannon Peppeard of The Pep Line & Peppeard Design

LOCAL ENTREPRENEUR SHARES ON HERWORK ETHIC & PASSION FOR ALL THINGS DESIGN

ST. CHARLES–The Pep Line and Peppeard Design Principal Designer and owner, Shannon Peppeard is continuously inspired by the words of Abraham Lincoln, “The most reliable way to predict the future is to create it."

After attending the Harrington College of Design, Shannon began a career in the financial sector. She relied on her previous college experience as an arbitrage clerk at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange to start a position at a mutual fund company.

Shannon’s financial background allowed her to make a salary that would far exceed that of a junior designer solidifying a foundation for her to eventually be home with her kids and to pursue her interior design business, Peppeard Design, which quickly gained traction in the industry. Her signature style incorporates clients’ needs and desires, with a livable design. Shannon’s work has been featured in HGTV Magazine, House of Markor Magazine, and recently named one of 2021’s My Rowe Designers.

“From day one of launching Peppeard Design, I was able to work with amazing clients who referred me to at least 2-3 others; and what I expected to be a slow ramp up, ended up turning into a full-time business overnight,” Shannon says.

A relentless work ethic, passion for all things design, and an ability to see through every space she encounters, her passion and love for design shines through every detail of the project.

As a working mom, involved community member, and business woman, Shannon is always trying to find the perfect work life balance, which prompted opening The Pep Line in downtown St. Charles, moving her design studio out of her home.

The Pep Line offers a curated selection of items used by Peppeard Design and carries a wide variety of home goods including in-stock furniture such as sofas, ottomans, chairs, side tables, rugs, and lighting. Pieces of art, mirrors, greenery, planters, vases, kitchen entertaining items including serveware, barware, and seasonal décor are also part of the collection. This allows clients to come in with photos, ask questions, and walk out with furniture!

The design team works with a variety of styles, colors and patterns, as well as traditional staples with muted darker colors. They help pick out the finishes, furniture, accessories and help facilitate the design and build to attain a beautiful, cohesive, end result within budget and scope.

“We are seeing a lot of earthy tones, moody colors, and a lot of the trends are going back to modern traditional decor,” Shannon adds. “I am seeing antiques mixed with modern, that has a nod to a European vibe. Think English chesterfield, more ornate pieces also mixed with clean lines.”
