This Chicago-based start up helps celebrate the happy moments in life, one chalkboard at a time.
The company’s founder, Nina Sawica, is a chalk extraordinaire filled with talent and creativity, inspiring Chicagoland area women who are venturing out into the world of entpreprenuership.
“While I have always loved helping friends and family celebrate major milestones in life, Chalking It Over officially came to life in 2019 while working on several menu boards and chalk signs in restaurants throughout the Chicagoland area. Chalking It Over has since expanded to service clients in the western suburbs, as well,” shared Nina.
“It is always such a joy to help bring a client’s vision to life. Whether working on projects for local businesses, promoting upcoming concerts and events, or decorating signs to help clients capture special moments in their lives, there is celebration behind it all. Many clients choose to work collaboratively, sharing images of styles and messaging that they would like to be incorporated into their design.” she added.
While some of her favorite projects have been helping clients welcome guests to their weddings or coming up with creative ways to announce that their family is growing, the most meaningful projects have allowed Nina opportunities to share important messages through art. She shared that projects that have involved collaboration throughout the community to advocate on behalf of social justice needs have been the most impactful, with hopes of inspiring change for brighter tomorrows. -Photos Submitted
