IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM THE VILLAGE
The Glen Ellyn Police Department is monitoring reports from nearby communities of isolated incidents of looting and damage to property. It appears that malls and big box stores are the primary targets. At this time, there have been no incidents in Glen Ellyn, however residents should be aware of this evolving situation and pay attention to your surroundings. Some local businesses within the Glen Ellyn community have elected to close out of an abundance of caution. The Glen Ellyn Police Department already has in place an increase in police presence in the community. Additionally, the Police Department is in communication with law enforcement agencies in neighboring communities and throughout the region, sharing information and working together to monitor the situation and maintain order and safety. The Village and the Police Department will continue to communicate with the public when appropriate. Updates will be shared as they become available on the Village’s Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as via the Village website.
