PLAINFIELD–Illinois boasts a handful of fun summertime activities. Between beach days, patio dining, ballpark jaunts, zoo visits, walking tours, theme parks and backyard bbqs, our calendars quickly fill with anticipatory excitement. In fact, another activity that’s on the rise is ‘beer travel’. These dedicated beer fans travel across the country to experience an array of IPA, stouts, lagers, ales and ciders. And did you know Chicago has been recognized as one of the best craft beer scenes in the country? Introducing: Werk Force Brewing.
Werk Force Brewing, located in Plainfield, is an experimental brewery that began production in 2014. After gaining popularity, its tap room opened in 2017. WFB will be celebrating its 8th anniversary June 23 - June 26. This fun-filled weekend will be accompanied by live music and a new IPA release called ‘Thank You’.
The property includes: a tasting room, brewery, kitchen (thanks to a recent partnership with Happy Belly Chefs, a Channahon-based catering company), private event space (The Barrel Den) and an outdoor, dog-friendly patio. This award-winning brewery is known for its variety and unique ingredients. Fan favorites include: Blues of Mexicali, Barrel Aged Farmhouse Vultures with Blackberries & Raspberries and its line of Sleepy Bear Imperial Stouts (try its recent 2022 release: Bourbon Barrel Aged Mint Chocolate Chip Sleepy Bear. Tasting notes: chocolate mousse, klondike bars and fresh mint - yes, please!). And they make their own in-house sodas.
