IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS.....
West Suburban Chicago has many exciting happenings for you and your family to enjoy this holiday season! Celebrate around town with family & friends, making new memories, experiencing holiday traditions. Here are 5 Things to Do this month....
1. Second City Holiday
SUNDAY, DEC 12, 4PM
GLEN ELLYN–While the weather outside could be frightful, the laughter inside is most delightful as comedy’s best and brightest roast the chestnuts out of all the things we lovingly loathe about the holiday season. Bring those who are on your nice (or naughty) list for the perfect holiday de-stressor. It’s enough merriment and music to keep you jolly ’til the Chicago snow melts…next May.
2. Light Up the Lake at Navy Pier
THROUGH JANUARY 2
CHICAGO–Brighten the winter season with Chicagoland’s biggest indoor, temperature-controlled light garden, featuring large-scale light-sculpture displays; an Alpine ice rink, authentic holiday beer garden, kiddie train rides, gift market, Merry Main Street Presented By Brach’s—and, of course, a visit with Santa. Now through Jan. 2, in Festival Hall.
3.The Naperville Nutcracker
AT PFEIFFER HALL BY ELISE FLAGG ACADEMY
NAPERVILLE–The tradition continues! Celebrate this holiday season with the magic of The Naperville Nutcracker. Set to the beloved score by Tchaikovsky, with its beautiful costumes, gorgeous sets and impressive dancing– this production is guaranteed to fill the audience with cheer and delight! SHOW DATES: Dec 17, 7pm Dec 18, 1pm & 5pm • Dec 19, 1pm
4. Illumination
MORTON ARBORETUM
LISLE–This year Illumination is going back to its "roots" with its traditional walking path. Visitors will be surrounded by color as they walk amid interactive lighting effects that highlight the beauty of trees in winter.
5. It’s a Wonderful Life
DEC 22 • 6PM SHOWING
ST. CHARLES–Enjoy this holiday classic with friends and family at Arcada Theater. This movie is a wonderful reminder of just how precious life is.
