THE ACOUSTIC SUMMIT @ The Venue
WHEELS NORTH
⭐ Wheels North is a high-energy, progressive bluegrass band from the Illinois Fox Valley comprised of Mark Frystak (guitar/vocal), Hayley Skreens (banjo/vocal), Jesse Fuller (bass/vocal) and Chris Grant (fiddle). Wheels North offers powerful three-part harmonies, skillfully crafted song arrangements, and an enticing catalog of both originals and covers.
ANDERLIK, OTTO & CHURCH
⭐ Three of the top bluegrass musicians in the Chicago area, Rob Anderlik, Pat Otto and Mike Church first met at late night jam session and felt a deep musical connection from the moment they played together. Even better, they discovered they shared a wide range of musical interests, ranging from Southern Rock, Blues, Swing, Jazz Standards, Cinematic Instrumentals, Folk Music and of course, Bluegrass. They formed a trio in 2015 and quickly built a reputation as one of the most versatile acoustic jam bands in the Chicago area. With a wide range of musical interests and the chops to back it up, the energy they create in their live performances is musical artistry at it's best. Whether it's a fiery fiddle tune, a low-down blues or one of their own compositions, AOC crosses musical genres with the authority and conviction that comes from mastering their instruments - guitar, mandolin and dobro. In addition to weekly gigs around the Chicago area and the MidWest, the band is currently preparing to record their first CD which will be released later in 2018.
PETE JIVE
⭐ When Pete Jive sings, charisma glides out of him and hugs you. Jive's gyrating, crazy legs maneuvers, turn-on-a-dime leaving two nickels syncopated rhythms, and punchy lyrics will heart-imprint you. A Pete Jive performance is an all-in, no one left seated affair, where Jive locks eyes, ears, legs, voice, fingers, and rapt attention around his audience. You don't hear a Pete Jive set; you and Pete live through it, together—that's the attuned intimacy Pete delivers to audiences.
