Unknown Male approached from behind, grabbing her chest and abdomen
According to a news release by the City of St. Charles, on Monday, February 13, 2023 at approximately 6:48pm, officers from the St. Charles Police Department responded to a report of a woman having been groped by an unknown male. Upon arrival officers learned that the victim, a 47-year-old female, was jogging along the Fox River Trail near the 300 block of S. Riverside Avenue, just south of the Illinois Street Bridge. She was jogging as part of a group but the others were ahead of her. She then heard someone quickly approaching from behind. The person approaching then put his arms around her shoulders grabbing her chest and abdomen. She screamed at the male offender who then fled west bound across a pedestrian bridge, near Indiana Street, and was last seen running northbound on 1st Street toward Illinois Street. The offender was described as a male, unknown race or age, thin build, approximately 5’6” tall. He was last seen wearing gray or dark camouflage winter coat and dark pants. St. Charles patrol officers and detectives are actively investigating this crime.
