ENJOY THIS UNQIUE STARGAZING EXPERIENCE & MAKE NEW MEMORIES • DECEMBER 3
Before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season takes over, take an evening to relax and unwind with friends or loved ones to enjoy a new experience in nature. Observe the expansive night sky from Primrose Farm, while cozied up by a bonfire and sipping warm, mulled wine.
During Winter Stargazing at the Farm from 6-7:30 p.m. Dec. 3, guests will experience Primrose like never before.
“The farm is perfect for stargazing, because there is little to no light pollution; the stars are incredibly bright,” said Emily Lambillotte, farm program supervisor.
But since the farm closes to the public at dusk, guests are not privy to this wonderous sight. “We wanted to bring that opportunity to the public and create a fun get-away for adults,” Lambillotte added.
During the evening, the summer kitchen will be open and decorated in holiday décor – sure to put you in the holiday spirit. Grab some mulled wine and warm up by the bonfire and enjoy the open sky to view the stars.
Park District staff will lead a brief educational session before the stargazing begins. Observe the constellations and learn about which winter stars can be seen during the New Moon phase.
Tarot card reading will be available during the event as well.
And while on the property, take a stroll to visit some of the animals that call Primrose home, such as the Belgian draft horses, jersey cows and miniature donkeys.
The event is for adults at least 21 years old. The fee is $25 per person.
“This event would be perfect for a date night, or a fun event to go to with a few close friends,” Lambillotte said.
