NAPERVILLE POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING, TWO MANY WOUNDED
NAPERVILLE — On Sunday, August 29, 2021, at approximately 2:11 p.m., the Naperville Police Department responded to the 600 block of Amersale Drive to a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, there was no one on scene. A very short time later, the Aurora Police Department responded to the area of McCoy Drive and Vaughn Drive after receiving a 911 call from the victims of the shooting. There were two male victims that were located wounded and both were transported to area hospitals. Their medical condition is currently unknown.
The initial investigation suggests that the parties agreed to meet at the location of the shooting to make a transaction and got into an altercation. The exact relationship of the offender and victims and the nature of the transaction remain under investigation.
The offender fled in a dark colored sedan in an unknown direction of travel. He is described as a male, black, in his 20’s.
