YOU'VE BEEN GLANCED® at Aurora's First Ever Taste of Africa
AURORA–Mayor Richard C. Irvin and Glancer Magazine were on the scene for Aurora’s first ever Taste of Africa, a cultural immersion event dedicated to helping the needy in Africa, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Aurora community. The day was filled with authentic food sampling, dancing, crafts, games, and building bridges of love.
ImaBridge Africa (IBA) was founded by Fr. Godwin Asuquo, a Nigerian native and pastor at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Aurora, The name ImaBridge comes from the Ibibio language of Asuquo and means "love". IBA, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, aims to help the poor and less privileged in Nigeria by providing services such as education, healthcare, clean water, and microfinance. IBA also builds bridges of friendship and community around the world through mission trips that bring volunteers from the United States to rural Nigerian communities.
