NO SUCH FAIR TAKING PLACE AT THAT TIME
NAPERVILLE–The Naperville Police Department and Naperville Park District have been made aware of a local scam involving an online ad soliciting registration fees for a fictitious holiday craft fair at Naperville’s Knoch Park. The ad, which has been shared via social media, calls for vendors to fill out an application and pay a $40 daily registration fee to rent space at a craft fair and vendor show scheduled to be held Nov. 27-28 and Dec. 4-5 at Knoch Park. The Naperville Park District has informed police that there is no such craft fair taking place at that location during the stated time. Police continue to investigate the origin of the ad and are asking that anyone else who may have registered for this event or has any information about this scam to call the department at (630) 420-6665 and ask for the Investigations Division. Police and Park District officials are asking local businesses and vendors to share information about this scam with colleagues to help prevent further victimization. Vendors are encouraged to always be wary of scams and independently confirm event information prior to making payment.
