REMEMERING BARBARA WALTERS
Sad news was reported tonight as we learned that Barbara Walters has died at the age of 93. The pioneering TV news broadcaster was the first female anchor in evening news and went on to lead a monumental career.
Walters joined ABC News in 1976, becoming the first female anchor on an evening news program. Three years later, she became a co-host of "20/20," and in 1997, she launched "The View."
In May 2008 Walters visited North Central College in Naperville to share her newest book release, Audition, with the community. Lindy Kleivo, Glancer Magazine's Publisher was there to capture her poise and beauty in these photos.
"We are so grateful to have had this moment in time with her. Meeting her was so special! I always remember watching her on TV while growing up. My mom was an avid fan of 20/20 and of course, The Barbara Walters Special– it was her absolute favorite. This broadcasting icon and journalism mentor will be missed by many," Kleivo shared.
