TAKING PLACE ALONGSIDE THE BATAVIA FARMER'S MARKET

The first season of Downtown Batavia’s Boardwalk Shops is set to host a soft opening beginning 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 13 alongside another successful morning at the Batavia Farmers’ Market.

The Boardwalk Shops are designed to attract small business, create more retail shopping, and bring people into Downtown Batavia to enjoy this unique destination, and the rest of the downtown community.

The tiny house-styled shops, located at 114 East Wilson Street across from Bocaditos, Oak & Swine, Wilson Street Tavern and Six + Cypress, will host eight new businesses for the 2020 season.

Individual shops may offer additional open hours, or host pick-up services at other times than indicated.

“It is very exciting to see this collaboration with the City of Batavia, Batavia MainStreet and many community volunteers and businesses filled with new businesses moving in and getting ready to open in Downtown Batavia,” said Bob Hansen, Batavia Boardwalk Shop Project Manager and Owner of Funway Ultimate Entertainment.

Due to adjustments made for Covid-19 regulations in Illinois, the Batavia Boardwalk Shops encourage everyone to wear a mask, stay home if feeling sick, and in order to maintain social distance, one shopper in each store at a time (until regulations change.) Many of the shops will have online and pre-order options as well both from their Facebook pages and websites.

Take some time to get to know the 2020 Batavia Boardwalk Shop Businesses and in the words of the Boardwalk Shop’s resident baker Haylie Bollweg of Haylie B’s Bakery - “Bake the world a better place.”
