GRAND OPENING OF RUBY JANE AUGUST 15 FROM 5-8PM
Dowtown Batavia’s newest retail store, Ruby Jane, will open their doors during Second Fridays on August 14 from 5-8 p.m. The Grand Opening weekend will extend through Sunday, August 16.
Ruby Jane, a child clothier located at 10 Wilson Street in downtown Batavia, is owned and operated by Patricia Anderson of Patricia Anderson Photography. Anderson, a Batavia resident, is excited for this new adventure. “I’ve been a newborn baby and family photographer for 9 years. When Covid hit, photographers were deemed non-essential and were prohibited from close contact with clients. Not knowing what the future would look like for in-studio newborn photography, I decided to fulfill one of my long time dreams to open a children’s clothing store! This is a great store for families who want clothing that isn’t in the big box stores - my vision for Ruby Jane is to carry trendy and original pieces that are stylish enough for family photos AND casual enough for a trip down to the farmer’s market or playground.”
Ruby Jane features children’s clothing, carrying sizes newborn through 5T. In addition to clothes and shoes, Anderson will sell locally made items such as lip balm from CeCe’s Honey Bees of West Chicago, specialty jewelry from the Crystal Collective in Maple Park, and hand-made children’s masks, one of a kind dresses, vintage quilted bibs and stroller blankets made by her mother in North Aurora.
Hours for the Grand Opening Weekend are: Friday, August 14: 5-8 p.m. Saturday, August 15: 9-5. Sunday, August 16: noon – 4. For every $50 spent, customers will be entered into a raffle to win a Free family portrait session for this fall with Patricia Anderson Photography – a $500 value.
“This is a dream come true for me,” said Anderson. “I’m a firm believer in supporting local businesses. I love what’s happening in downtown Batavia, and I’m excited to be a part of my town’s vibrant community!” -Story & Photos Submitted by Downtown Batavia
