KATHY KINCANON NOSEK
My Darling, 99 Love Letters
GLEN ELLYN–Glen Ellyn resident Kathy Kincanon Nosek has been a Realtor for 23 years and owning her company, 4C Realty, for over 11 years, but besides being a real estate guru, she has recently become a published author. In 2013, when Kathy’s mother passed away, she found letters her mother saved for over 70 years from her dad written between 1942-1945 during WWII. “Dad’s words literally jumped straight into my heart,” says Kathy. “While reading the letters, I was able to get to know my dad, Bernie Kincanon, as a soldier and a boyfriend who was falling in love with the girl back home, Mary Eileen Ruhnke.”
Kathy knew she wanted this true love story to be shared and began writing My Darling, 99 Love Letters. The book was purposefully launched on December 16th, 2020 in line with some very important dates. During WWII, Kathy’s dad was captured at the Battle of the Bulge on December 16, 1944 and was a prisoner of war until the war ended. Forward 56 years, her dad passed away on the very same date. The book launch was the 20-year anniversary of his passing.
The historical, non-fictional memoir and heartfelt love story, My Darling, 99 Love Letters can be purchased on Amazon, at Barnes and Noble as well as local independent bookstores including, The Bookstore of Glen Ellyn and The Prairie Path Book Store in Wheaton. -Mindy Kyle, Photos Submitted
