DUE TO SPIKE IN CORONAVIRUS CASES, BEACH ONLY OPEN TO FONTANA RESIDENTS & SEASON PASS HOLDERS
Wisconsin's popular Fontana Beach has been frequented more recently than ever before by Illinoisans due to the many suburban pool closures and beach closures Downtown Chicago. Sadly, this will now come to an end, as The Village of Fontana Board of Trustees has made the difficult decision to close the Fontana Municipal Beach to non-residents stating that they have seen an influx of local COVID-19 cases.
"Village of Fontana residents and season pass holders will continue to be permitted to utilize the beach. These changes are being made to promote the safety of our residents and our staff. We will continue to monitor the situation, and when conditions allow, the Fontana Municipal Beach will reopen under normal operations. We thank you for your patience and understanding!" the statement read on June 23.
Fontana Beach was named as one of Glancer Magazine's 7 Spectacular Sandy Hot Spots Across the State Line in the June 2020 issue.
