POLICE ASKING FOR ANYONE WITH INFORMATION TO PLEASE CONTACT THEM
BATAVIA-On February 6, 2022 at approximately 7:15 PM, officers of the Batavia Police Department responded to the 700 block of W Fabyan Parkway for a report of a motor vehicle crash requiring extrication.
Involved in the crash was a maroon, 2017 Ford Mustang and a white 2012 Kia Optima. The initial investigation indicates that the Ford Mustang was traveling westbound on W Fabyan Pkwy when it crossed into the eastbound traffic lanes. The Kia Optima was traveling eastbound on W Fabyan Pkwy. The Ford Mustang was struck on the passenger side by the front of the Kia Optima. The Ford Mustang came to rest in the parkway on the south side of the roadway. The Kia Optima came to rest partially on the roadway and parkway near the Ford Mustang.
The Kia Optima had three occupants at the time of the crash which were all transported to a local hospital for treatment. The Ford Mustang had two occupants at the time of the crash, and both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time in the investigation, no citations have been issued. This investigation is still open and ongoing. No additional information is available pending completion of the investigation and notification of next of kin. We would like to thank all those who came forward as witnesses in this investigation.
