Former High School English Teacher Shares on Launching The Room Revision, a Full-Service Organization & Design Firm
LEMONT–For as long as she can remember, home improvement and organization have been passions for Nina. Growing up with a mother affectionately known as "Mrs. Clean" and a father who instilled practical skills like using a label maker and the timeless phrase "measure twice, cut once," she developed a deep love for creating organized, functional spaces. This passion led her to open The Room Revision, a full-service organization and design firm.
Before launching her business, she spent five years as a high school English teacher and ten years as an editor at a top educational publishing house which gives her a unique approach to transforming spaces. Instead of editing papers, she now “edits in 3D,” helping clients create spaces that improve their daily lives and bring peace of mind.
A first-generation Polish American and "girl mom," she cherishes the time spent with her daughter, Sophie, and their dog, Misha, and is grateful to live the American dream. In her downtime, you'll likely find her at barre classes, exploring museums, attending ballet performances, or at a comedy club. She is also an active member of the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO).

What's trending for promoting your business via social media? How do you engage your audience with social media?
Currently, social media engagement thrives on authenticity, storytelling, and interactive content. Personally, I love creating reels and carousel posts featuring stunning "before and after" room transformations. Followers enjoy these because they're visually satisfying, provide an instant feel-good boost, and have a major "wow factor." One of my favorite things is transforming cluttered closets into beautiful, boutique-style spaces, allowing clients to "shop" their own belongings in a fresh way.
From initial decluttering to installing custom cabinetry, our professional team handles every detail, creating an organized and beautiful space clients truly love. To share this journey, I regularly post behind-the-scenes stories, giving followers a glimpse into install days, consultations, product recommendations, and helpful organization hacks.
I've discovered that content doesn’t always have to be perfect—in fact, some of my raw, authentic videos generate the most engagement. Including polls, Q&As, trending music, and relevant hashtags helps foster community interaction and growth. Supporting and reposting other professionals' content also helps build strong industry connections, boosting engagement and collaboration opportunities.

What is hot in home decor accessories for Spring/Summer 2025?
● Shutters are emerging as a fresh, popular alternative to heavy drapery.
● Sage-colored rugs and accessories are also trending this season.
● Functional yet stylish storage solutions like hyacinth baskets and clear bins.
● Thoughtfully and beautifully labeled bins and baskets make maintaining order effortless, especially in homes with kids.
What is trending in 2025 for the "overall look" for Spring/Summer 2025?
Fresh, bright, and airy. Creamy white walls have replaced the previously trendy "greige”.
Likewise, lighter tones such as natural, light-oak flooring and furniture are taking over from darker espresso finishes.
Biophilic design, connecting interiors with nature, is also trending. Through the use of natural materials, abundant greenery, and ample natural light promotes well-being and tranquility. A focus on sustainability is leading to the use of eco-friendly materials and upcycled furniture, allowing for stylish yet environmentally conscious decor. Rattan and other natural fibers are experiencing a revival, being integrated into various indoor designs to add warmth and texture to spaces.

What is your personal favorite design style?
Timeless, calming, and elegant—focused on creating spaces that feel effortlessly serene. I gravitate toward soft, neutral colors like creams and sage, complemented by natural elements such as wood, greenery, and our thoughtfully designed custom cabinetry. Functional touches like woven hyacinth and rattan baskets help conceal clutter gracefully.
I'm especially drawn to statement lighting—modern crystal fixtures are my favorite—but as a mom to a busy toddler, practicality is key. Right now, I choose stunning yet family-friendly lighting pieces that are safe and durable, but still make a statement. Washable fabrics, baskets to hide clutter, and smart storage solutions ensure my home remains beautiful yet practical.

What is your favorite room in your own home and why?
My bedroom is my sanctuary—cozy, timeless, and designed to encourage relaxation. It's intentionally TV-free, creating the perfect peaceful environment to journal, practice gratitude, and do my nightly yoga. It’s filled with calming textures, like my soft, tufted headboard, and elegant details such as mirrors framed with delicate beading for a Parisian touch, and antique glass-topped nightstands and dresser. The modern crystal statement lighting adds a touch of glamour without overwhelming the serene atmosphere. I’ve even incorporated blush tones to add warmth and personality.
