THIS TRAVELING FOOD ARTIST UNLEASHES HER CREATIVE SPIRIT AS THE OWNER OF THAT BOARD
NAPERVILLE/PLAINFIELD–Born and raised in Korea, Tess studied Classical music composition and spent time as a musical director. She then moved to Canada by herself and worked as an educator for 3 years, followed by another move to the United States working as a paralegal; ultimately landing in the real estate field.
“All these experiences, different countries, and explorations opened my eyes on diversities, different cultures, and right attitudes towards them,” Tess says. “It is like a charcuterie, little bit of everything.”
At 34 years old, Tess is now married with two stepdaughters and a son and is currently the owner and art director of That Board.
As a Traveling Food Artist, she can unleash her creative spirit through themed events, spectacular elevated grazing tables, and custom taco bars! The summer season brings festive fruit boards, hand-carved watermelon cakes, and small bite displays of prosciutto, honeydew, cantaloup and Mozzarella balls bringing sweetness, saltiness and juiciness together for a beautiful, healthy and refreshing treat!
Tess is looking forward to their own annual summer pig roast party with Double D Pig Roasts, as well as enjoying live music at Wine & Cheese in Plainfield, and taking her team to Michelin Star restaurants.
Living in three different countries, and having five different career fields, Tess has always followed her heart and appreciated the process of her growth, while remaining true to herself. Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we're supposed to be and embracing who we are. -Brené Brown
