ST CHARLES/KIRKLAND–Noelle dreamed of running a family business to create a legacy and have something fulfilling after retiring as a St. Charles Police Detective. She began her journey serving the community ten years ago as a 911 dispatcher with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s office and became a patrol deputy shortly thereafter. In 2019, she transferred to St. Charles, immersing herself in caring for the citizens beyond her hometown of Kirkland.
Aspiring to open a brick-and-mortar candy store someday, she hopes to sell nostalgic candies that emote childhood memories. In the meantime, Noelle operates Sweet Swirl Candy, a mobile candy cart and fully stocked shelves at Rustic Fox in North Aurora.
As an Event Extraordinaire, Noelle had a busy June at The Warehouse on Park, Margaritas & Makers; Genoa Days; Rustic Fox Farmers Market; and Hometown Handmade Market. Her next big event will be at the Kirkland 4th of July Celebration from July 3rd to 6th. Look for the huge cotton candy flag!

Our glitter beverage bombs are a fun and dazzling way to enhance any drink. Simply drop one into your beverage, and watch as it releases a burst of color and edible glitter, creating a magical, sparkling effect.
Our cotton candy cakes are a unique and whimsical treat, perfect for any celebration. Made entirely of gluten-free cotton candy, these cakes come in a variety of flavors and are layered to create a colorful, sweet masterpiece that everyone can enjoy.
Recently, we started serving fresh spun cotton candy at events with toppings like edible glitter, sprinkles, bubble gum, and crushed candy.
What is your personal favorite product or service?
My personal favorite product is our glitter beverage bombs, I love to watch them make my drink sparkle! I also love the freeze-dried caramel M&M's. My most recent favorite flavor of cotton candy is the pineapple pepper, a sweet and spicy combo that makes your mouth water!
What's new and exciting in the Candy World for 2024?
Local businesses have been incredibly supportive, and we can't thank them enough for helping us get our name out there! We have our candy in a few stores already, including Hyvee in Sycamore, Illinois. My adventurous spirit and commitment to creativity drive me to explore new flavors and ideas!
We are thinking about offering PICKLE flavored cotton candy and pickle cotton candy burritos! We are also aspiring to have a storefront by 2025! Additionally, we plan to introduce new candy and unique treats that will delight our customers at our store front.
What are the top five things on your bucket list still?
Visit the world's largest candy store; Attend an international candy convention; Create a candy-themed charity event; Travel to a chocolate factory in Switzerland; Develop an Internship Program - Establish a candy-making internship program for local high school students to gain work experience and learn about running a small business.
What does the West Suburban community not know about Noelle Wold that they should?
My roots are actually in the western suburbs of Villa Park. I lived there until I was a freshman in high school. I am also a mother of two, a blue belt in jiu-jitsu, and I love traveling. These aspects of my life shape who I am and fuel my passion for my work.
What words of encouragement can you share to inspire other women who are considering opening a business?
You can do it! Have a good support system, take care of yourself, and remain focused. Remember, 'The only limit to our realization of tomorrow is our doubts of today.' Believe in yourself and your vision.
