LOCAL MOM & MAKEUP ARTIST SHARES 'HOPE IS STRONGER THAN FEAR'
LOMBARD–During a routine mammogram and the discovery of stage 1a breast cancer has taught April to give herself permission to put herself first.
“Having cancer has also allowed me to take a good look at my life and rearrange my priorities,” she says. “Accepting that you cannot give everything 100% of your attention, 100% of your time, is truly the only way to have a balanced life.”
April is a wife and mother of two active athletic boys (9 and 16), as well as the owner of April Lenz Makeup Artistry offering natural looking makeup services, on location in the Chicagoland area, for weddings, headshots, and photoshoots. She is also a permanent makeup artist that specializes in eyebrows; however, she is currently on hiatus to remain steadfast to her goals of remaining in NED status (remission), while focusing on having a strong and healthy body supported by a powerful mind and positive mental health.
“Hope is stronger than fear,” April adds. “I have no idea who said it, but it has deeply resonated with me during the last eight months.”
Adding daily meditation, herbal tea, and salted caramel chocolate round out her balancing act to remain in her happy place. Helping people look like the best version of themselves adds glow and brightness to her beautiful life.
