RESIDENTS SHARE ON THE CLOSURE OF THIS SHORT-LIVED RESTAURANT
DOWNTOWN NAPERVILLE–As word spread late last week about the abrupt closure of Smokeshow BBQ in Downtown Naperville, residents took to social media to share their thoughts. Overall, it seems that this is a place that became a favorite to many during its 5 months of operation. The restaurant, which opened in late March 2023, posted its farewell in social media and on their website on August 23.
"It's been a great rodeo we'll see you again soon. Hanging up our boots up at the Naperville location but keep following us to hear more. In the meantime, keep enjoying the other amazing Scott Harris Hospitality locations in Naperville and in Chicagoland!"
"Wow, that was now my favorite place in downtown Naperville…super sad, " shared one resident.
"So disappointed. This place was truly a gem. Great food and atmosphere, " shared another.
"Shocked and very disappointed to hear this!!! Best food (most amazing BBQ!) and by far the best place to see live bands! - don’t close!," shared one more, and the comments kept coming.
The restaurant was part of the Scott Harris Hospitality Group known for popular dining establishments such as Fat Rosie's and Francesca's. Scott has helped found numerous successful restaurants throughout the prestigious Chicago culinary scene which have won him such awards as Chicago Restauranteur of the Year, Top 25 Restaurants in Chicago, and even a James Beard nomination.
