FIRST-EVER NASCAR CUP SERIES CHICAGO STREET RACE IN NASCAR'S 75-YEAR HISTORY THIS WEEKEND
CHICAGO–The NASCAR Pit Party at Millennium Hall, a multi-concept dining experience inside Millennium Park, is a premier food and entertainment event for Chicagoans and racing fans to experience the city’s most anticipated summer spectator happening this weekend July 1 and 2.
Located steps from the official NASCAR Chicago Street Race’s course and situated beneath the iconic Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), Millennium Hall, boasting the city’s largest beer garden, will feature floor-to-ceiling TV coverage of the race while offering Executive Chef Michael "Wally" Wallach’s special NASCAR Pit Menu.
“In addition to our traditional menu that will be available, I thought it was only appropriate to add a few Southern favorites to our menu in honor of NASCAR’s debut in Chicago,” the Chef shared. “We will be featuring a NASCAR Pit Menu including traditional BBQ with Gus’s Q sauce. Highlights include BBQ Brisket, Pulled Pork, Pit Stop Beans, Mac & Cheese and Banana Pudding to top off your tank. Our NASCAR-themed drink specials include Victory Lane Margarita (also available in a Margarita Tower); the Motor Mule and Pit Stop Punch.”
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Wally has been cooking for 30+ years, starting his career with the Weber Grill Restaurant group along with Restaurant Gasthaus Zum Hecht in Switzerland. His passion for food then took him to Executive Chef positions at many restaurants, including Really Nice Restaurant Group, Gibsons Restaurant Group, the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel, Blue Chip Casino and Spa and most recently with the East Bank Club. Chef Wally has a strong passion for fresh and seasonal ingredients, creating imaginative and innovative dishes and mentoring the next generation of chefs.
This free dining event is open to the public. Free giveaways and raffle prizes including Vandalay Brands gift cards will run throughout the entire race weekend.
The NASCAR Chicago ticketed schedule includes pre-race concerts featuring The JC Brooks Band, The Black Crowes, Charley Crockett, Miranda Lambert, and a post-race concert highlighting The Chainsmokers. As a part of the NASCAR Chicago ticket, on-site interviews will be ongoing with Riley Herbst, Cole Custer, John Hunter Nemechek, Bubba Wallace, Ross Chastain, Alex Bowman, Chase Briscoe, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Busch.
