CONCERT BEING HELD IN EARLY DECEMBER
AURORA–Aurora University will present “It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” the music department’s annual Christmas concert, on Sunday, Dec. 5.
Performances are at 3 and 7:30 p.m. in Crimi Auditorium in the Institute for Collaboration, 1347 Prairie St. in Aurora. The public is invited. Admission and parking are free.
Lisa Fredenburgh, AU director of choral activities, said “Our festive concert will feature traditional holiday melodies and favorite carols. Featured will be a collection of upbeat holiday tunes from Spanish, English and other European traditions.”
The program will include “In Dulci Jubilo,” by Michael Praetorius; “Patapan,” arranged by Kirke Meachem; “Los Peces en el Ri'o,” arranged by Nita Sinaga; and “We Three Kings” and “Coventry Carol,” arranged by Darmon Meador. Additionally, Northside Brass will perform and the AU pipe organ will make its traditional appearance with Dr. Naomi Rowley at the manuals.
Doors open about 30 minutes prior to the event start time. Check in with an Aurora University staff member upon arrival is requested.
Based on current pandemic guidelines, face coverings are required indoors for everyone on campus, regardless of vaccinated status.
Attendees may park in parking lots and the parking garage without a campus parking permit.
