AURORA POLICE INVESTIGATE RECOVERY OF DEAD MAN FOUND IN THE FOX RIVER
AURORA–The Aurora Police Department released details of yesterday's incident along the Fox River.
On December 3, 2024, at approximately 1:54 PM, the Aurora Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a deceased male in the Fox River near Hurd's Island. Emergency personnel recovered the remains, which were later identified as a 35-year-old male.
The deceased was preliminarily identified through distinctive tattoos, and his last known location was a nearby shelter the previous evening. Initial findings showed no immediate signs of trauma or foul play.
The Kane County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and took custody of the deceased. An autopsy was scheduled for December 4, 2024, to determine the cause of death and confirm the individual’s identity.
