A SECOND INCIDENT OF ATTEMPTED VEHICLE HIJACKING IS ALSO BEING REPORTED
As we reported Tuesday night, at approximately 8:01 p.m. Naperville Police Officers responded to Costco located at 1320 S Route 59 for the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, officers encountered the female victim, who reported two male subjects exited a suspect vehicle, approached her while she was seated in her vehicle, and told her to get out. The victim complied and the suspects took the vehicle, a black 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan with the license plate AR26825. The two suspects then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. A third suspect in the suspect vehicle also left the scene. Both vehicles were last seen traveling northbound on Route 59 from Beebe Drive. There was no weapon used or implied, and the victim was uninjured. The suspects are described as the following:
Suspect #1: male, black, 18-22 years of age, medium skin tone, slender, short black hair
Suspect #3: Unknown
Suspect Vehicle: Blue/Grey in color, possibly a Honda Pilot, older model with a 3rd row seat
While investigating this incident, a different female victim arrived at the Naperville Police Department to report a male suspect attempted to enter her vehicle while parked at Old Navy located at 220 S Route 59 at approximately 7:40 p.m. The suspect vehicle pulled next to the victim vehicle. The suspect exited the passenger side of the suspect vehicle and attempted to enter the victim’s vehicle. The victim was able to lock her doors and drive away. The suspect in this incident is described as the following.
Suspect #1: male, black, 20-30 years of age, approximately 5’09” tall, thin build, with a two-inch horizontal scar on his right cheek.
Suspect Vehicle: a silver mid-sized SUV
