GLEN ELLYN–Jessica once saw an interview with HP CEO, Meg Whitman, where she essentially said you can’t be perfect at everything all the time.
“It really resonated with me and has helped me give myself and others more grace,” Jessica says. “Sometimes I excel at being a mom, bake bread, have a clean house, make a delicious healthy dinner, go above and beyond as a volunteer, or exceed a client’s expectations working as a freelance User Research Consultant and as Campaign Coordinator for Prairie Food Co-op in Lombard.”
Other times, Jessica is thoroughly present while watching baking shows with her two young daughters, ignoring the clutter of toys, dishes, laundry, and emails.
As the mother of two girls, Jessica wants them to have every opportunity available and hopes by pursuing things that inspire her, she will inspire them by letting them in on her fears, struggles, and failures so that they can see it’s all part of the process.
As a candidate, Jessica looks forward to serving on the District 41 School Board because she believes in the promise of a high-quality public education. She fully supports investing in students, celebrating strengths, and respectfully collaborating to support continued excellence in a student-focused, data-driven, and financially sustainable way.
