PLAN A FUN & FESTIVE DINING EXPERIENCE

WESTERN SUBURBS – Begin the month of December with a special SCN Madrigal Dinner at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church in St. Charles on December 6, 7, or 8th at 6:30pm All meals begin with composed salad of Spiced Roasted Pear over Peppery Arugula, garnished with Pumpkin Seeds, Gorgonzola and Green Grape, and finished with Balsamic Reduction. Select your main course from Cabernet Braised Pot Roast over Roasted Root Vegetables; Herb Crusted Pork Loin Stuffed with Sage Spiked Sausage; or Roasted Butternut Squash Risotto. Finish with Warm Cherry Bourbon and Brown Sugar Cobbler.

Meet Santa at the La Fox Metra Train Platform for pictures and carols, and then ride together to Gino's East in Wheaton for unlimited deep dish pizza, salads, soda and warm cookies on December 9 at noon.

Begin new traditions and cut your own Christmas tree at Abbey Farms near Batavia in Aurora. Once the tree is loaded in the car, head to their Pine Tree Café for a farm-made meal from scratch and savor homemade treats, courtesy of favorite family recipes. The café is open each weekend through December 23.

It’s always nice when someone else is doing the cooking for you, so you can simply enjoy the family. La Za’Za’ Trattoria in St. Charles is hosting Christmas Eve dinner on December 24 from the regular menu and taking reservations beginning at 4pm.

The Pattern House Restaurant and Bar in Geneva will also be open Christmas Eve and will feature regular menu items along with some unique specialties for the holiday. –Kristen Kucharski
