MAJOR CONCERT NEWS - SAVE THE DATE!
Ribfest 2018 is off and running with possibly its most exciting and earliest music announcement ever. Bob Pschirrer, Ribfest Entertainment Chair, on behalf of Ribfest Chair 2018 Joel Carlsen, and the Exchange Club of Naperville, is proud to bring Steven Tyler and the Loving Mary Band to Ribfest, Saturday, July 7th.
ABOUT STEVEN TYLER
Steven Tyler, one of music’s most iconic songwriters and recognizable, dynamic front-men, who has been cited by Rolling Stone as “one of the greatest singers of all time,” joins the 2018 Ribfest lineup to perform with his Nashville-based band, Loving Mary. Tyler invites the audience to join him for an unforgettable evening, entwining his greatest hits with songs off his debut solo album We’re All Somebody From Somewhere.
This performance came to be not only out of an artistic partnership, but also from a philanthropic alignment. In November 2015, Tyler founded his philanthropic initiative, Janie’s Fund (www.JaniesFund.org), in partnership with Youth Villages to bring hope and healing to girls who have suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect. During its inaugural year, with the support of over 38 countries and many influential friends (including Bono, Garth Brooks, Zac Brown, Miley Cyrus, Sir Elton John, P!nk, Ryan Seacrest, Britney Spears, Howard Stern, and Carrie Underwood), Janie’s Fund raised over $1.9 million. Steven Tyler is proud to have support for Janie’s Fund from Ribfest, and to partner with an event supporting local philanthropic causes.
“We’re delighted to host both the talent and the heart that accompanies Steven Tyler and The Loving Mary Band”, said Carlsen. “To be able to partner with this level of artist for Ribfest, and then to be able to join Tyler in supporting agencies that uplift and save lives, fits perfectly with our mission and goals for Ribfest 2018.”
Club President Robin Choquette, Psy. D., said Ribfest is entering its 31st year and has raised more than $16 million. “Ribfest is our only fundraiser and the success of the event drives the economics of the club’s mission to support area agencies,” she added.
Agencies include those who address daily challenges in our community: hunger, families in crisis, homelessness, sexual assault, advocacy, housing, addiction, respite care for families of special need children, adult daycare, teen pregnancy support, to name just a few. The Edward Care Center, Loaves and Fishes, Families Helping Families, Little Friends, Inc. and Project HELP, a nonprofit organization established by the Club in 1992 that supports whole family and parenting health are among those receiving allocations from Ribfest 2017 proceeds.
Tickets for Steven Tyler go on sale Wednesday, November 22, 6pm CST via ribfest.net.
