SEPTEMBER 29, 2017
Friday night Anderson's Bookshop and North Central College hosted a literary event with legendary horror writer, Stephen King and his son Owen King, to an audience of 3,300 fans.
The two writers took turns reading from their collaborative new novel, Sleeping Beauties and answering various questions about the story and their writing process.
Among many laughs, Owen told tales of his growing-up years, and Stephen had a message for writers to “stay brave and write the story you want”.
Both writers claimed their best first-readers were their wives, whose opinion they revered. After reading Sleeping Beauties in three straight days, Tabitha, Stephen’s wife said, “It reads like a freight train!”
Sleeping Beauties is on shelves now and available at Anderson's Bookshop Downtown Naperville. -Mindy Kyle
