DE LA FINCA Sometimes the only way for me to beat the heat during summer in Chicago is to sip on some sparkling wine. That paired with some company, music and patio times is perfect. Cava is always a great choice and Raventos i. Blanc consistently puts out affordably delicious juice!
I opened up their De La Finca, 2013 which was aged on the lees for 36 months. De la Finca comes from a historical vineyard, situated 50 km to the West of Barcelona; its geology and microclimate makes it a formidable rival to the most prestigious of wines. This is a blend of 50% Xarel-lo, 40% Macabeu and 10% Parellada.
This has beautiful aromas of fresh citrus, floral and minerality amongst other alluring notes. Mouthwatering flavors follow with notes of citrus, tropical and floral. It’s absolutely delicious and rather decadent. Raventos i. Blanc makes many Cavas for different price points but this one retails for around $30.
So the next time you’re outside on your patio maybe pop open a bottle of Cava to battle the heat. I believe it’s what the doctor ordered. Sláinte!
