INSPIRED TO EDUCATE
As the mother of two girls and full time LMC Director at Granger Middle School, I am inspired daily by the educators who raised me: my mom, godmother, and family friends. These people modeled for me what it means to be passionate about education and driven to implement cutting edge programs. This takes a lot of energy, but seeing the benefits for students fuels my desire to put my next idea into action. Some of my latest projects include virtual book clubs, greenscreen video projects, robot coding, and my newest venture, Breakout EDU, an escape room-like learning experience. –Lynne White, Aurora/Oswego
RESPITE TO REJUVENATE
I find my strength through my girls who encourage me to take care of myself so I can be here to raise them and see them become great women in the future. As a parent of children with special needs, founding Respite Endowment Organization has given me purpose outside the home. I get stronger helping others empower themselves by providing group respite, every 3rd Sunday of the month at Alive - A Teen Center Naperville. Trained volunteers act as 1:1 care mentors to special needs children and siblings ages 3 – 13. We also support social skills groups, parent educationseminars and art/music therapy. www.respiteendowment.org -Becky Pundy, Lisle
EYE ON THE PRIZE
My number one priority has always been feeding my son organic, steroid/antibiotic free food, prompting the creation of my own company, OrgaNums when he was a baby. Even though OrgaNums is thriving, if I'm being transparent, OrgaNums has survived a divorce, two moves, and some very personally trying times for me. I've never been someone who is willing to quit on something that deserves my efforts, and so the more challenges that are thrown my way, the more I dig my heels in. I feel that tiny humans truly deserve a much healthier option and that gives me a sense of purpose when everything else feels utterly chaotic. www.OrganNums.com -Ashley Rossi, Naperville/Chicago
