From Passion to Purpose: Karlin Kosinski's Journey with Pilates
GENEVA–Karlin Kosinski, owner of X’s and O’s Pilates Studio in downtown Geneva, found her passion by chance but turned it into her life’s work. Her first experience with Pilates—a mat class at a local community center—left a profound impact on her. Battling chronic anxiety, she was moved by the strength, connection, and hope she felt in just one session. That pivotal moment sparked her dedication to learning more.
Earning her Comprehensive Pilates Certification in 2011, Karlin has been teaching full-time for over 13 years in Chicago’s suburbs. She opened X’s and O’s Pilates Studio in 2018, naming it as a tribute to the love, support, and balance Pilates brought to her life. Her studio has become a sanctuary where clients feel safe, empowered, and connected to their bodies through movement and breath.
Karlin’s passion for growth continues as she pursues certifications in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy and Applied Polyvagal Theory in Yoga. Her goal? To use movement as a tool for therapy and healing.
For aspiring entrepreneurs, Karlin shares heartfelt advice: be authentic, lead with kindness, and connect with your community from a place of compassion. Her journey is a testament to the power of authenticity, passion, and purpose in making a lasting impact.
