PASSIONATE AWARD-WINNING RESTAURANTER INSPIRED BY THE COMMUNITY
WEST CHICAGO/GENEVA–Chef and Restaurant owner K.C. (Kristopher) Gulbro’s passion for food came at an early age, working in the restaurant industry since he was sixteen and holding every position from dishwasher to line cook. After years of mastering his skills in the restaurant and hospitality industry, K.C. and his father Curt, opened the doors to FoxFire restaurant in 2003.
He is grateful for the mentors along the way who taught him about pricing, interactions with customers, and how to be humble.
“Working with my dad is the biggest highlight of my career. He taught me how to be a good businessman and more importantly, how to be a good person,” K.C. says. “Having been chosen to be Chef Ambassador for Certified Angus Beef® is certainly the “icing on the steak”, I mean cake [laughs].”
Constantly inspired by the Geneva community, K.C. and his team opened his second venture, Copper Fox Pub and Banquet Hall and he takes every opportunity to make everyday the best it can be, sponsoring Geneva youth baseball and Special Olympics. He also volunteers at church, and rides with his Motorcycle Club to support charities.
K.C. tries to hold steadfast to the words, Wherever God puts me, I try to be..
