New Executive Director of the Glen Ellyn Downtown Alliance & Community Enthusiast
GLEN ELLYN–16 years ago, when looking for a suburb to move to from Chicago with her growing family, Dawn and her husband drove up and down Metra stops looking for that perfect quaint walkable downtown area, lined with cute shops, a mix of restaurants, nice parks, good schools and many community events. Glen Ellyn quickly became home and she immersed herself as a proud member of the all-volunteer Glen Ellyn 4th of July Committee, a Glen Ellyn Public Art Committee member, the McAninch Arts Center Community Engagement Coordinator, and the Executive Director of the Glen Ellyn Chamber, leading businesses through COVID with special programing and enhancing visitor experiences with the First Thursdays Summer Concert Series.
Launching to new heights, she was recently named the Executive Director of the Glen Ellyn Downtown Alliance bringing her experience, know-how and exciting ideas to ensure that downtown Glen Ellyn will be a destination for shoppers and diners via unique and engaging events, revitalization, and partnerships with the Village of Glen Ellyn, the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce, the Glen Ellyn Park District, The Glen Ellyn Public Library, DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau, area nonprofits and businesses.
