Restauranteur and Former Professional Soccer Player with a Dream to Mentor Children
AURORA–Chef Avila, the former professional soccer player, real estate guru, and restaurateur who owns Altiro Latin Fusion Group, with locations in Geneva, Wheaton, and Aurora, and will be adding AMORE MIO Aurora, an Italian restaurant and piano bar to pay homage to the Italian American restaurants of mid-20th century New York City.
“My main inspiration is God, my family and my dreams, all of which make the magic that makes me see that the deepest desires come true,” Chef Avila shares. “To date, I have opened eight restaurants and two coffee shops, all with a lot of discipline, love and commitment. Our goal is to continue working hard, and once the doors open, we believe God directs us. We trust a lot in what He puts in our path and allows us to experience.”
Passionate about his faith, Chef also serves at his local Church and supports his communities by giving donations to clubs, schools, non-profits, and cultural organizations. His life goal is to mentor children by opening a soccer organization, to practice the sport to play competitively but also work on life skills so they can steer clear of negative influences, keeping them focused on their studies, families, and fulfilling their own dreams like he has.
