LOCAL MOM & FOUNDER OF MAX'S MISSION
NAPERVILLE–Jill’s son Max was a spirited, fun loving, smart, quick, incredibly athletic boy who could fill up an entire room with his presence. Although he seemingly had everything going for him, he took his life on March 10, 2022 at 15 years old.
Within a week of his loss Jill knew they had to help to spread mental health awareness and carry on Max’s legacy.
“By forming this nonprofit and being open about our journey, we are helping to erase the stigma and bring about more open conversations about therapy, mental heath and suicide,” Jill shares. “Mental health is as important as physical health. I recently posted on the @maxs.mission Instagram about another suicide loss survivor mom who talked about mental health and dental health. It takes the average person 11 years to get help for their mental health from the onset of an issue. Imagine if we waited 11 years to get a cavity worked on after it started. Think about that.”
Jill is grateful for Amy Toepper of AMT Law, LLC who created their 501(c)(3) and Claire Krzyzewski who designed their logo that highlights Max’s love for skateboarding and also conveys infinite hope and love.
She has made it her mission to carry on Max’s Mission.
