Shinto Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar turned one-year-old! They celebrated in style by offering live music, drink specials and guest appearances by celebrity hibachi chefs and bartenders including: Naperville's Mayor George A. Pradel, Fox Chicago's David Novarro, Dr. LaVacca and Dr. Ibrahim, Naperville Magazine's Leah Rippe, and Glancer Magazine's founding publisher, Lindy Kleivo. Mardi Gras Charity Ball“A Party for a Cause”
Residents gathered for a cause to help raise money to support Naperville-area charities. Sponsored by the Naperville Jaycees, the Mardi Gras Charity Ball event included dinner, drinks, live entertainment, a fortune teller and silent and live auctions. Proceeds from this year's event were donated to the Naperville Jaycees partner charity, Almost Home Kids, a not-for-profit children's care center whose mission is to enhance the lives of children facing serious and ongoing medical challenges. The event was held on February 6th at the Northern Illinois Naperville Campus.

Zaidi's Hosts Around The World
Cocktail Event to Benefit Little Friends Inc.
On January 28 residents got the opportunity to 'travel the globe without leaving Naperville' at Zaidi's Around the World Cocktail Party. Benefitting Little Friends, Inc., this one-of-a-kind event allowed guests to experience the flavors of both the East and West through distinctive cuisine and fine spirits. Glancer Magazine was also a proud supporter of this event.

Naperville resident Courtney Lamkin-Feldstein enjoys being a full-time mom. She has two stepsons who are now grown and on their own and little Maddie, a seven and one-half year old bundle of joy. She says boys were great fun and she now enjoys sharing common interests with her daughter.

Best known as Chad Lee, the Blue Ranger in Power Ranger Lightspeed Rescue, this Naperville North 1993 graduate is as gentle as he is powerful. As Taylor Lautner's martial arts coach, Lautner won the Jr. World Championships at age 12, and as long time friends, went back stage at SNL this past December to help choreograph Lautner's Xtreme Martial Arts demo that caused the audience to roar.

I hope I'm winning at the game of life, but I'm definitely a loser when it comes to enjoying a life of games. From school sports to board games, I just lack the necessary competitive spirit to ever succeed. When I play Monopoly my enthusiasm wanes after I've selected my playing piece (if I can't be the Scotty dog I'm not playing). I loved creating my Mi on our Wii game, but even she sits idle filing her fingernails all day. If the saying "unlucky at cards, lucky at love" were true, I'd have men lining up at my door. Of course I haven't; I have Grumpy.

Helping to Heal Others Through Reiki
After working for 17 years in various areas of law enforcement, including a Police Sgt. in Lisle, Naperville resident Diana Kushenbach was forced to retire due to a back injury. Following her retirement, Diana started looking for alternative methods for healing. It was at that point that she decided to become a Reiki Master Practitioner and learned how energy healing can compliment medical care.
